From the insane cost of living to its crumbling infrastructure, these are 10 reasons California is the fastest dying state in America.

Population Loss

Many people are choosing to leave California, rather than stick around. Even famous celebrities and Youtubers that have spent their lives here are throwing in the towel. But, the primary group of people leaving the state are middle or low-income families because living in California with their current salaries is just unsustainable.

You might be wondering whether or not there are enough people moving into the state to make up for its losses and you’d be right to ask that question. The fact of the matter is, the state isn’t seeing the growth it once used to during the days of the gold rush and technology booms. Rather, there are more people leaving California than are moving in.

Why is California losing so much of its population? That’s thanks to the cost of living.
