1. Smugglers’ Notch
Smugglers’ Notch offers a great getaway, literally. Situated in the Mount Mansfield State Forest, the mountain pass is surrounded by evergreens and mountains and is so secluded, it was a favorite route used to smuggle liquor during the Prohibition.
