3 Things To Consider For Your Profile Picture on Instagram
Don’t just snap a photo, optimize your profile!
Here’s The Thing,
You could just take a random picture of yourself and call it a day. However, there are several things you should take into consideration (especially if you run a theme page or a business page).
1. Pictures
If you’re just trying to become a personal influencer, a simple picture of yourself can do the trick. People can see what you look like and immediately start connecting with you.
If you’re a business or a theme page, I don’t recommend using a picture of yourself.
2. Text and/or Logo
Instead, you should consider creating a logo for yourself. A big question I always have is, “Should I put text in the profile picture or not?”.
Well, it depends.
The profile picture is so small that, most times, any text you put on it is unreadable. Here’s an example of a good use of text:
As you can see, the “Fuck” and “Jerry” are taking up nearly 2/3s of the entire profile picture. The only issue with this profile picture is the “6ft”. That text is much too small. Besides that, this is a great example of a text-only profile picture.
This profile picture is also great! While it doesn’t use any text, it is:
- Super recognizable
- Attracts attention
3. Color Scheme
If you want to push your branding to the next level, using consistent colors could be a move. Posts, highlights, and stories all using the same color can make your content and page more memorable.
In addition, you can use the same color scheme in your profile picture as well. This will reinforce your brand colors even more.
