10 Things That Are Normal in USA But Weird In Other Countries

The last thing on the list is absolutely crazy…

From talking to strangers to not using the metric system, these are 10 things Americans do that other countries find completely weird.

Giving Tips

If you are headed out of the country, here’s a hot tip…don’t leave one. While in the US, leaving a tip of anywhere between fifteen to twenty percent of your total tab at a restaurant, when taking a cab, or being helped by a porter is customary and even expected, it’s not cool in most other countries. In fact, in many places abroad, it’s considered rude.

In Japan, tipping is a direct insult because it implies the person you’re tipping doesn’t make enough money. Foreigners especially dislike trying to figure out when they are supposed to tip in the US and why you always should at Starbucks…but never at McDonalds.

Money Differences

Speaking of greenbacks, even the color of US money seems to be a principal issue with the rest of the world. Bills in most other countries are of different colors and different sizes too. The only way to tell US dollars apart are the dead presidents on the front and the numbers plastered all over them. How confusing is that?
