Imagine moving to Paris because you’re tired of your life in the United States. Then, imagine Paris, France completely sucking. That’s right, visiting a place and living there full-time are two completely different things. Paris, France is one of the most popular cities for tourists in the world, but moving there is a mistake that only the naive make.

Whether it be the high cost of living or the insufferable nature of the French, there are plenty of reasons to stay wherever you are and pass on living in Paris. While there might be a romantic version of this city stuck in your mind, these reasons to avoid moving to Paris are most likely going to change your mind.

1. The People

Here’s the thing about Parisians- they don’t think they’re rude or nasty to tourists. Objectively speaking however, they could absolutely treat visitors with a bit more respect and humanity. Look, it’s not hard to understand why locals would grow frustrated with a constant influx of tourists and foreign transplants dotting the city streets and taking up valuable resources, but that’s the reality of living in Paris.
